There is an old saying that repetition is the key to success. I believe that repetition without a goal does not mean anything. I like to ask myself some simple questions when setting up my action plan.
First I ask myself “What are Your Goals”? What I am referring to here is my mid to shot term goals. For example, my mid term goal is to have my network marketing income equal my current income at my job.
Second, I give myself a time frame to reach that goal. When would I like to accomplish the goal. Back to my example of having my network marketing income be equal my income from my job. My time frame for this is by the end of 2012.
From this point I can start to break the goal down. I begin with the end in mind. What steps am I going to have to take TODAY to build toward my goal.
I first find out what it is going to take to reach my goal. I check with people who have already achieved the goal to get some ideas on what actions I’ll need to take. In the example of matching my income, I know I am going to need to add at least one new personal a month to my team. Either one customer that is on the refill program or one new business partner.
Next I ask myself, How many hours am I willing to dedicate to reaching my goal? For example, I know that the minimum number of hours I need to dedicate to my network marketing income is 10 hours a week.
Now I find out what activities I need to do during those 10 hours to reach my desired outcome. From this point I can apply the repetition that will bring me success.
I like to choose 3 activities that I will do ever single day. Once I have set the goal with the time frame, I leave it alone. I no longer think of it. Yes, the goal is in my subconscious; however now I keep my focus on the daily activities that I will do to reach my goal.
What is going to keep me consistent with these activities is my overall burning desire, the drive and purpose behind the original goal. Everybody knows that life can get crazy. So in order for me to not let life get in my way, my purpose must be stronger than the pull of life’s craziness.
Your power lies in taking action. I encourage you to empower yourself and take action on something you read here today. What can I do to help you?

Yesterday’s picture for Wordless Wednesday was actually a lesson in persistence for me. Napoleon Hill in his book Think and Grow Rich states that “If one does not possess persistence, one does not achieve noteworthy success in any calling.” You are probably wonder what a Christmas Tree has to do with noteworthy success. This is no ordinary Christmas Tree. People came from all over the world to get a glimpse of this tree.
I was determined to be one of those people. I had a definite purpose backed by a burning desire to fulfill it. I have been in and out of New York City several times over the past 10 years; however never had the opportunity to see “The Tree.” So last Friday, December 11, I was in downtown New York City enjoying the day with family and friends. I had no idea where the day was going to lead. There where 6 of us there celebrating my 14 year old niece’s birthday. All I know was that at some point before I headed back to Queens for the night I was going to see “The Tree”.
Our day consisted of walking to Empire Diner from Midtown to taking the Subway to Canal Street, (more walking) then to SoHo (more walking) and back to Midtown. We had a short break at my sister’s hotel before we headed out to enjoy a wonderful meal at Benjamin Steakhouse. During desert, the six of use voted on what to do as our last stop for the night – Time Square or Rockefeller Center. That voted ended in a tie, so we had the birthday girl draw for the winner. “The Tree” won! I was so thrilled, I was going to finally get to see the tree at Rockefeller Center.
Those of you who have never been to downtown New York may not be aware that only 5 people are allowed as passengers in a taxi. Knowing that, we decided to walk from Benjamin’s to Rockefeller Center. To get to Rockefeller Center we where told to head toward 5th turn right and you can’t miss it. “It is only a few block’s up” We where at 41st and Madison. We “google it” on the iPhone and find out “The Tree” was around 50th and Fifth Avenue. For those of you who have read my personality posts, there was not one “green” in the group of adults. You know the ones that would analyze this, look at the map and know that all we had to do was walk up 40th 1 block to 5th Avenue, turn right and take 5th Avenue to 50th. Oh no this is a group of the fly by the seat of your pants “blue” adults. We head out and take Madison uptown, toward the direction we knew Rockefeller Center was. This place is so popular and big, we should see it right? We don’t need to know EXACTLY where it is. WRONG!
We walk a few blocks, have not seen it, ask a cop, he things it is the other way, but not sure. We ask some of the hotel bellmen, they don’t know. We are freezing, it is too cold to take off the gloves to make the iPhone work. We ask one more person and they tell us it is just off 5th Avenue. To turn around head back to 5th Avenue and you can’t miss it. WRONG again. We turn right on 5th from where we were and ended way UP town at 55th and 5th. By this point, birthday girl no long wants to see anything. She has given up on see “The Tree” and want to head back to their hotel. So my sister hales a cab.
Remember the cab rule, only 5 adults. Remember my burning desire to see “The Tree.” I don’t get in the cab, I am determined to find this tree and experience the moment. The cab leaves, I take off my gloves, use google maps on my iPhone, find out exactly how to get there from my “current” location.
I was on 5th Avenue by the Trump Tower (West 56th), all I had to do was turn around walk back to 50th and it was right there on my Right.
If only we had just gone straight right after we saw the dancing lights display on the Saks Fifth Avenue Store, all six of use would have seen “The Tree” together.
My persistence converted my dream into a physical reality. I also learned to stop, take the time to use the tools I have available to me.
Persistence in wanting to achieve success in my network marketing business is want lead me to Mentoring for Free. Learning to use the tools available at Mentoring for Free, is what is leading me to the reality of that dream too.
Your power lies in taking action. I encourage you to empower yourself and take action on at least one thing that inspired you here today.

Yesterday for Wordless Wednesday I posted a picture of myself in front of a wall made of bags of sand. This wall is part of the most a well known Berlin Wall crossing point between East Germany and West Germany during the Cold War. It was given the name “Checkpoint Charlie by the Western Allies.
The Berlin Wall divided the city for nearly 30 years (1961-1989). During that period, there were many successful and unsuccessful escape attempts. Until 1989 the Communist regime of East Germany had a policy of shooting at people trying to flee to the West, those that helped them, deserters and other illegal border-crossers. More than 125 deaths were officially recorded on the Wall in and around Berlin. Many of these attempts have been chronicled in the Checkpoint Charlie Museum.
While visiting the Museum, I was totally amazed at the ingenious ways that people came up with to escape to the West. They all had this over whelming burning desire to reach the West. This desire was so strong they where even willing to risk being shot. There where many tunnels dug. Adults squeezed themself into suit cases or tiny boxes.
There is no doubt in my mind that desire was the starting point for the achievement of freedom for those individuals and families that planned escapes. Their desire was so strong that nothing was going to stop them.
I was really moved by the stories I read and the pictures I saw. I was aware of the history and stories around the Berlin Wall; however being there and seeing it for myself really made an impact.
I am so truly appreciative a having always lived in a free land.

PS – Did you Tell Me Thursday?
What a wonderful feeling it is to be OK with where I am as I progress on my shrink it weight loss plan. Accepting myself exactly where I am as I progress is allowing me to discover my interests in life and bring them into my shrink it plan. By stopping my inner critic whom I have named “Monarch” I am able to tell her to “shut up” and experience the funny, delicious, beautiful moments of my life.
I am able to hear different perspectives on the thoughts and ideas., ah-ha moments coming into my mind and life. Becoming aware of just how many of my thoughts are consumed by my past programming is a true revelation!
Napoleon Hill states in his book Think and Grow Rich that the starting point of all achievement is desire. I have been reading and studying this book for over 18 months now with my Master Mind Group and applying the principles to the financial side of my life; however it only dawned on me today to apply the same process to my shrink it weight loss plan.
Desire is what got me started on this plan in the first place. A burning desire to be in the best shape I have ever been in by the time LawGirl gets married in February of 2010! This desire is what keeps me taking the necessary course correction on this journey of creating the body that is coming – a lean, tone, firm, healthy body.
Have you ever wondered what it would take to stop all the incessant chatter in your mind…you know, so you could actually THINK???
What if you could actually think about what YOU DESIRE to think about? Would your day be different?
If you’d like to join the supportive, caring group (hosted by “Mentoring For Free”), where we discuss the 1937 classic by Napoleon Hill, “Think and Grow Rich”, then go to the “Mas Jegas” page and fill out the form.
It will not cost you anything but your time to join us.
